REVIEW – Sacramento metal band, Waves of Distortion, debuts a new album titled Rage Against Time. The album demonstrates the band’s ability to utilize different genres and hooks to bring any fan or newcomer of Metal into the fold for a new experience.

From the Artist:
“This album is about being broken down by influences such as addiction, infidelity or societal. Or, feeling broken by our own mortality, insecurity, weaknesses or self-destructive behaviors. The key to overcoming is the realization that we all feel broken in some way and the pain reminds us that we are more than our foibles. We need to lean on each for support and work together to raise each other up. To quote C.S. Lewis, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pain: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”

The opening title track “R.A.T” begins with flying guitars and a frenetic drum pace that sets the tone for the album. Lead singer Josiah Fox’s fierce vocals infuse the track with the compelling spirit that hook the listener in. “Original Sin” creeps up on slow pace sinister setting before diverging to enthralling lyrics. “Chemical Dependency” opens with a low key guitar with a blend of hip hop, rock, and metal showcasing the multitude of talents the band displays.

“Ghost and Flies” rides along with slower paces guitars and drums echoing for a change of tone. The final song “Note to Self” closes the album on a self reflective state.

This album does not disappoint and should be listened by anyone looking for something different or any music lover.
